Neen is a great tutor for high school and college level students. My son is very impressed with her ability to assimilate important concepts and ideals that helps students improve their clarity in writing. He is currently in an honors program and receiving an “A” in English class. Neen emphasizes that younger students’ common misconceptions in writing and works toward a formal style of writing and the expansion of content. She expertly guides my son to write succinctly and with clarity. His writing level is greatly improving with every session and I highly recommend Neen. She has now shifted to SAT prep and is targeting his weakness to fill the gaps left by school education. Neen is very proficient at improving school grades and for advancing learning in preparation for SAT/ ACT.

My son ( he is currently in 8th grade) was never very much interested in improving his reading and writing skills. We luckily found Neen and he started enjoying her lessons immediately. She provides him with a variety of homework that includes interesting videos and news for him to think through, and she teaches him how to analyze each situation. He talks to us about what topic he got for his home work and how he is analyzing them. I never thought he would like English literature so much as he never showed that much interest in it before he met Neen. I thank Neen for making every lesson so interesting for him that he now looks forward to her lesson every week. His reading and writing skills have improved a lot.

Fabulous Tutor!

Neen is a fabulous tutor! She is professional, well informed, and diligent.I have been Neen’s student for about two years, and my writing has improved astronomically. she has taught me how to write clear sentences and engaging essays. Since becoming Neen’s student, I have won a national writing award and have received all A’s in my AP English classes. Neen also has given me an advanced knowledge of grammar. I accredit Neen with my score of 35 on the ACT English section. I have fallen in love with writing, and want to minor in journalism. Neen has given me the opportunity for writing to be a part of my future.

Mrs. Neen is an exceptional teacher who has helped me strengthen my reading comprehension, writing, and grammar skills. She exhibits a lot of passion for teaching which is evident every time. She asks questions to challenge my logic and gives constructive feedback. As a high-schooler, I am motivated to learn further as I continue to strengthen my academic and test taking skills with the help of Neen. We have done SAT/PSAT preparation, where Mrs.Neen guides me to analyze the passages to understand the implicit meaning. I've been wanting to tell you for many years that you remain one of the very best high school teachers I ever had, anywhere. You were so intelligent, clear-headed, articulate and funny, yet serious in the best possible way, i.e., you took the material, as well as the students, seriously. You made us really think critically, and you put literature in its context for us. It boggles my mind to think that you were all of 26 at the time.

You were my very favorite high school English teacher: super-smart, challenging, real, glamorous. You were like no other teacher I'd had, and I always felt so lucky to have you. I still remember your classes on Kafka. They were so exciting. I majored in English at Bryn Mawr, went on to grad school at UVa (ugh), and recently retired as an English professor at the University of Kentucky. You definitely influenced me.
